60 Million Business Facebook Pages Now Live
There are now 60 million business Facebook Pages, and 4 million of those pages are now advertising on the Facebook platform (Venture Beat), some of which are using the platform as their sole online presence. Because of Facebook’s high search-ability, businesses have realized that having a strong Facebook presence is equal to, if not more effective than, having their own web presence.
When a person utilizes an online search, Facebook pages are populating at the very top of the search for both web and mobile. This is a very important piece for many businesses, as visibility can be a large factor in whether your business succeeds or fails.
Mobile search is an ever growing trend. People are making purchasing decisions on their phones and statistics have shown that 85% of users that view business pages on Facebook are doing so from their mobile phones (Venture Beat).
This makes sense as users are looking for information about a business on the fly. What are their hours? What is their address? Where is the closest open location to fit my needs? This is all being done on a mobile phone and your companies visibility is in direct correlation to new customers.
So how can your business effectively promote themselves on Facebook and make sure their pages are visible?
Step 1: Build a business page with accurate information. Accurate store hours, phone number, address, etc.…
Step 2: Create engaging content
Step 3: Interact with your customers and potential customers
Step 4: Advertise
As statistics show, of the 60 million companies that have business Facebook pages, only 4 million of them actually advertise.
It’s safe to say that those who are spending their advertising dollars on Facebook are seeing better returns than those who are not. Why? Because it’s very easy to get lost in a sea of 60 million pages, and as organic reach is no longer possible, advertising dollars are now the bridge to new and current customers.
The key to all of this is that Facebook is a very easy platform to become a digital marketer on. It’s an entry level marketing tool set that has advanced options but doesn’t require the user to have a background in digital marketing. Facebook says that “80 % of new advertisers start with entry-level tools like a promoted post or page like.” (Fool)
For businesses to have the ability to create these pages, market them, grab insights from customers and make their business more visible without needing much background or experience to run them has created a unique opportunity for small and medium size businesses. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when!
